Cafe Latte
E. Lansing, Michigan

Bands: Once a Hero, Hope for August, The Farewell Drive.

So we're back at a place that nearly feels like home now, we've played there so much: The Cafe Latte. We realize we've been a little lax about updating the site with pics from our shows, so we're gonna start making up for that right now. Let's get right down to it.

We were first. There must be something amusing about us getting stopped in the middle of a song, because the Latte management did it again- this time because we apparently started too early. Whoops. Rules, rules. After much crowd anticipation and the Latte had given us the green light, we rocked it out for everyone with a shorter set. Why dilute the energy when you can get it all out at once, knocking over mic stands and slamming into each other in the process? It wouldn't be as much fun the other way around, that's for sure.

If you frequent our shows at Maggies or Cafe Latte, shame on you if you don't know who these people are by now. It's Jackson's own Hope for August, with whom we've shared many a stage, and become friends in the process. At least in Lansing, their fans are our fans too, so we're a good fit. You can always expect a good show from them, although Doug is still saddened that they've removed "New York" from the setlist. [GLARE]

Also a band we're seeing more and more of lately: The Farewell Drive. We played with them two shows ago at the Five Four Seven, also in Lansing, and we're glad to see them again. A good show from them as usual, and if we had to guess, we'll probably be playing with them again sometime.

As promised, here are a couple more pictures. We'd like to dedicate this one to the subject of the photo, our Lansing fans. (No, not Doug's T-shirt.) Most of the people you see in the crowd attend every one of our shows in Lansing without fail. We really appreciate their support, as we do all of you. Without you guys, would we still be making music? Of course. But it wouldn't be as much fun, and a major part of the scene is connection between band and crowd. So here's to you all.

Adam sure knows how to rock it out. Aren't his drums sweet? That reminds us. After our tragic fire this Summer, we lost our dear companion and mode of transportation, Annabelle, as well as all our equipment. While Annabelle could never be replaced (and we miss her dearly), our equipment sure as hell could. And replace it we did. Everyone say "Thank you, homeowner's insurance!" Well, it's time to close this past show out, but we'll be back in Lansing before long. Until then, we'll miss you.
