Five Four Seven
E. Lansing, Michigan

Bands: Once a Hero, The Farewell Drive, Elastic Eight Track.

So, we've had a couple shows in Ann Arbor to warm us back up after our Summer hiatus, but this is the first show of the fall in E. Lansing, and we're glad to be back. This time, however, we didn't play our usual haunt, Cafe Latte, but instead played our first show at the Five Four Seven, an independant music venue on Grand River Ave. It's basically the upper floor of an older building, and the room is, well we'll say "cozy and intimate." But a great atmosphere for an indie show.

It was a fantastic show. The house was packed by the time we went on, even though we were first, so we really enjoyed playing a short set of all our favorites to both our dear Lansing fans as well as some unfamiliar faces. The packed room and energetic atmosphere made for a great show where we all went nuts. Look at Adam's hair if you don't believe us.

If these guys look familiar, you're not mistaken. They're the Farewell Drive from E. Lansing, and we've played with them a couple times before, including at our last Blind Pig show. They're a bunch of friendly guys and we always enjoy sharing a stage with them. I'm sure we'll play with them in the future.

Finally, Elastic Eight Track closed things out. It was their CD release party, and we were glad to be a part of it. They delivered some high-quality sing-along style garage-punk. It was a nice contrast to the Farewell Drive and to Once a Hero. It would be nice to set something up with these guys in the future. Well, this show was a great way to bust back out onto the Michigan scene after all the shenanigans of the summer. Shenanigans. Who the hell made that word up? See ya at the Latte in a month, Lansing!
