We always love going to Flint and playing at the Local, and this show was definately the largest one we've played to date there. The night was kicked off by Katie Stanely, a solo acoustic artist with a great voice who played some excellent originals, as well as some notable covers such as Alkaline Trio's "Radio." We went on second. Our energy was definately up, and we performed the songs reasonably well, but parts of our set were interrupted by a few technical mishaps, such as broken strings (it was Jon this time, not Doug) and so forth. These things seem to happen to us disproportionally at the Local. This didn't detract from our set, however, as we had a good time during our pauses talking to the crowd, who seemed to be really into the set.
Following us were two sweet bands. For the Best delivered some excellent and fun pop punk, while the Silhouette stepped up the madness a little bit with some intense screaming and vibrant stage performance. We didn't exactly get any pictures of them because we're lazy sometimes. The Chiodos Bros. were the culmination of an awsome show. One of the greatest things about them is their interactive show style, with the whole crowd jumping up in down, clapping hands, screaming lyrics, and just having a good time. That's what it's all about, right?.
