The Michigan League
Ann Arbor, Michigan

Bands: Once a Hero, Capulet, In Lear Rosa.

Well folks, this is it, the CD Release Party for "Stealing Street Signs," and our 77th show together to date. We've assembled many, many pictures from the show and the evening, and a large number of them are shown on this page. After all, it's our release party, and we're making up for all those shows where there was no camera. So enjoy!

There's always more preparation for any show than just what you see at the venue or on stage. Here Jon and Doug are loading our merchandise into the truck.

This is the Michigan League, and shows take place in the basement. Hardly your typical venue. Notice how the ivy-covered building gives off that "ivy-league" feel, unlike our usual, comforting, crack-house architecture where many of our other shows take place.

We'd like to thank our friends- Becca...

...and Kati for taking pictures for us.

...and to Michelle from Acutest Records, for making "Stealing Street Signs" possible in the first place.

Now, let's get down to business. The dudes in the picture above are Capulet from Flint. We've played with the guys at the Local 432 on a number of occasions, and we're thrilled to have them join us in Ann Arbor to rock out the League Underground. They did a great job, and kept everyone interested, which was a tough task, considering that there was Iraq war coverage on CNN in the background, as you can see in the photo. Ok, so no one was really watching CNN, and we eventually turned it off.

After Capulet, Ann Arbor's own In Lear Rosa took the stage. To give you an idea of how disjointed and pathetic the Ann Arbor indie rock scene is these days, In Lear Rosa was closer to us in style than many of the bands we play with, and we STILL hadn't ever played a show with them before. In Ann Arbor, it seems that the bands don't know each other, and many would-be fans have forsaken Ann Arbor for national shows in Detroit. Anyways, In Lear Rosa rocked out hard, and had some really interesting musical ideas to offer. Maybe we'll play some shows with them in the future, provided that the rock scene doesn't wither away and die on us.

Well, we played last, and it was great to have all of our hometown friends and fans come out and see us. We're not going to bore you with words. If you made it to the show, you know how it went. If not, your loss. Either way, they say a picture's worth 1000 words, so here come about 9000 words worth of pictures.

Well, that's that. We really appreciate everyone who was able to make it out to the show, and hope you had as good a time as we did. This will be our last Ann Arbor show before our west coast tour, which starts in less than a month. Until then, we'll be playing some other shows around Michigan, so check out our tourdates to see when we're playing in your neck of the woods. We'll leave you with 4 more photos, and then this excessively long page must come to an end.
