The Flint Local 432
Flint, Michigan

Bands: Once a Hero, Half the Battle, Off Kilter, Takeout.

Flint, Michigan. Known for GM, the song "Flint-town", and the Flint Local 432, one of the best All Ages clubs this side of the Ohio/Michigan border. We love the Local. They always have great turnouts, great kids working and hanging out there, and Joel the owner is a righteous dude. There is something to be said about a local venue that helps out local bands. We have played there on many occasions and always have tons of fun talking to kids and other bands about this and that.

Half the Battle are out of Northville, Michigan kinda near Livonia. They are obviously influenced by bands like Hot Water Music and Small Brown Bike. The drummer beat the shit out of his drums and their stage presence was super tight. We will be playing some shows with them in the coming weeks so keep an eye out for those.

We were up next and rocked out to the best of our abilities. I saw some of the crowd members singing along to some of the newer stuff (kudos to those kids; those songs will be out soon). All in all a solid performance, broken strings and all.

Takeout are out of Flint and mix a hardcore feel with a old school, crusty punk vibe. They've been around awhile and Flint always seems to be kind to their products. Kids were slamming hard, and their parents looked mortified. Punk rock!

Off Kilter finished up the show with their AFI meets indie rock music. The singer obviously digs Davey Havok from AFI. All the screaming and thrashing is lot of fun. The crowd was definitely digging it. And they're super nice guys to boot. Flint is dope. Back into the studio we go, hoping to emerge with our full length.
