The Space
Kalamazoo, Michigan

Bands: Once a Hero, Within Four Walls, Remember When, The Transfer, Switch Stance.

Some wonder why Michigan is famous for its winters. Well, the drive out to Kalamazoo proved to us how truly shitty the weather can be here in the Midwest. The hour and a half drive from Ann Arbor was filled with snow showers, which were heavy at times, as well as icy roads, but we eventually made it out to the home of Western Michigan University. The Space is another great all ages Michigan venue and this marked our first time playing in K-Zoo as well as the farthest west that we have traveled to play a show (not counting the West Coast tour). Everyone working at the Space is a volunteer and they serve coffee and put on lots of great shows all year round.

Within Four Walls (above) kicked off the show, delivering some powerful indie rock. These guys from Wayne, Michigan, right out by Metro Airport, so we weren't the only ones playing from our side of the state.

Remember When are a math rock/emo band out of beautiful Grand Rapids, Michigan. We have played with them several times prior and are always impressed with their performances. This time was no exception as they played our favorite song last (the name escapes me, but it's sweet).

Next up was Swith Stance, an awesome hip hop group that provided a great way to shake up an indie rock show. Their rhymes were sweet and their DJ was ridiculously good. Word is they're opening for Wu Tang in Detroit.

Local band The Transfer rocked hard with their punk rock/double guitar solo attack and their vocalist sang his head off. We played really well and we seem to be getting much tighter as our newer material starts sinking in. Special thanks to the WMU and MSU kids for coming down and seeing us. We are currently in the studio with the famous Tim Pak recording our Sgt. Pepper....or at least trying to. See you all at the next show.
