The Underground
Lansing, Michigan

Bands: Once a Hero, The Amputation, the Farewell Drive, The Serenity Retail.
Note: As was the case at the Blind Pig show, condensation on the digital camera prevented it from functioning, thus hindering our ability to bring you quality photos of the rock and roll. "Thus..." What a dumb word.

Lansing- home of the dreaded rival Spartans. But hey, we don't really care about that football rivalry stuff. Lansing has a ton of great kids who are into great music so every time they invite us out, (we've only played at Café Latte until now; this just happens to be our first time at the Underground) it is a pleasure to rock the house.

This particular show was no exception, as a decent amount of punk rock kids crowded around the make-shift stage in the basement of a local church to slam with the best. They also gave us some delicious vegetarian spaghetti that made us go mmmmmm.... It was just the thing we needed after a whole day in the recording studio, followed by the hour drive to Lansing.

The first band up was the Serenity Retail. These guys were a good local indie rock band with a bit of hardcore mixed in for good measure. Not to mention that they were just juniors in high school. Maybe we'll get lucky and play with them again next time we're in town.

The next band up to the plate was the Fairwell Drive, fellow Ann Arborites. Having just played with them two days prior at the Blind Pig, we were once again treated to some quality indie pop sounding like the Gloria Record/some other good band that we couldn't quite pin down but who are good. Thanks for watching our merch while we played, guys. We owe you huge!

Next up were the Amputation straight outta Flint-town! These guys were intense and I think that most people came out to see them. Great hardcore band and super nice guys to boot. Long live Flint.

We finished the night up with a good set. We burned out a bit towards the end due to us being in the studio all day beforehand, but otherwise a smashing evening. A special thanks to the street team ladies for coming out (you know who you are) and all the others who watched us. Also special thanks to Michelle who said that we sounded like Mock Orange, my favorite band in this or any universe. Your good words will follow you into the next world.

Well, this is our last show until after Thanksgiving break. Everybody go eat some turkey, or perhaps just some mashed potatos, cranberry sauce, pecan or pumpkin pies and the like if you're vegetarian. After the break, we've got a couple more shows before we split for the winter holidays. We'll also be in the studio quite a bit recording a new CD. Shh. Don't tell.
