The Flint Local 432
Flint, Michigan

Bands: Once a Hero, Too Far From the City, The New Exhibit, The Chiodos Bros.

It's another wild and crazy evening at the Flint Local 432. Ridic ended up not playing for some reason, and Nick from Dot. was not feeling well, so they didn't play either. Instead, first up was a solo act by the name of "Too Far from the City." We couldn't get a picture, but it was basically one guy who just moved to Michigan from Chicago peforming on guitar and vocals. He did a great job, and it takes balls to get up on stage by yourself.

Following Too Far from the City was The New Exhibit, whom I don't think we've ever seen before, but put on a good show, as most of the bands at the local tend to do. You can't go wrong with solid punk rock. I mean, you CAN, but only with dedication and hard work. We were on third, and I must say, this show was a huge improvement over the last one we did at the Local. No broken strings or failing equipment, and we played our music correctly, too. We finally redeemed ourselves. Adam usually likes to hide behind his drums, but we snuck a picture of him.

The Chiodos Bros. wrapped up the show with a bang. These guys have amassed a serious following in Flint and they put on shows with more energy than several bands combined. They're all over the stage constantly, and they get the crowd jumping and singing along. We'll be playing even more shows together in the future, so keep an eye out. After the show, we said goodbye to Flint and drove through the (extremely heavy) rain to Little Chef in Brighton, where you can get a late night meal that Denny's only wishes they could do. I think only Waffle House is in the same league. See ya next time, Flint.
