Bands: Once a Hero, Hope for August, and Dot.

We were glad to be back at Cafe Latte, playing what seems to be turning into our monthly show there with Dot. You might not be able to tell from the picture, but those folks are havin' a blast. There's always a bunch of cool people who make it out to see the bands and it's a really fun atmosphere for shows, so if you're in the area, why not stop in next time? After all, it's free.

Instead of just us and Dot. playing, Dot. invited Hope for August to play at the show too. I think they're from Jackson and we've played together at Maggie's before, so it's not the first time we've done a show together. They put on a really solid performance, with a sound that in general fits with our genre, and received a good reaction from the crowd.

We started things off a little bit differently this time. Anyone who expected us to begin with our usual set opener "Second Best" must have been confused. We started out with a short instrumental version of what has become our newest song, titled "Losing the War." Check it out on our lyrics page; you'll be hearing it soon. "Second Best" followed, naturally.

After we finished our spiel, Dot. rocked the [coffee] house. See the dude in the pic below, sitting next to Jason? He talked to Jason, and sometimes the crowd too, pretty much throughout a large chunk of Dot's set. It was hard to always hear what he was saying, but I'm sure he gave Jason some crucial advice, and he also encouraged the crowd to get more into it and dance. Well, he was right about that. You can't have too much fun.

We're full swing into our fall show schedule, with plenty of opporunities left to rock with us. Next week brings a much anticipated show with Counterfit from San Diego at the Bottleneck in Toledo, as well as a show at The Flint Local 432. We'll leave you with a pic of Doug in mid air. What mad photography skills it takes to capture a moment. Kudos to Noah. 'Til next time, everyone.
