Bands: Once a Hero, Haven, Evikted

Welcome back to Frankie's in Toledo. This is the second time we've played here, the first time of course being our last tourdate over the summer. We don't want to waste your time with a huge introduction that you don't want to read anyway, so let's get right down to business.

Our first item of business is the band Haven, the dudes right there in the picture, who played right before us. Orchestrated with an acoustic guitar, bassist, keyboardist, and drummer, Haven can be described approximately as a cross between slow songs by Incubus and Dave Matthews. Yeh, we know, it's an unlikely combination. Although you wouldn't generally find a band of their style playing with us, we though Haven was really talented and their Keyboardist was one of the best we've ever seen.

Hey, look, it's us. We played second to a crowd that seemed a little less than enthusiastic. Was it us? Did we suck? Not any more than normal, anyway. As decent a show as always, at least we thought so. So, wake up you guys! We appreciate the few of you who did decide to rock out with us.

Apparently, a large portion of the crowd was saving their energy for local band Evikted, pictured above. Just for convenience's sake, it's easiest to describe these guys as nu metal, although we're sure there were more influences than that. Again, not at all the style we're used to playing with, but that's how it works sometimes. Frankie's has been really good to us, though, and we're looking forward to coming back next time, hopefully playing an indie rock show. Hey, we'd even settle for a punk show.
