The Wired Frog
Eastpointe, Michigan

Bands: Once a Hero, Dot., Remember When, Burning Radios, DiViDe

In the past, we've had several chances to play at the Wired Frog, but we've had to turn them down because of prior engagements. Finally, we were glad to have been able to play there. "The Frog" is an all ages club just over the border of Detroit in Eastpointe. We were pleasantly impressed with the setup- a large stage and dance floor, and a seperate socializing area with a drink and snack bar. It's a shame that the city of Eastpointe wanted to shut the place down (many a local government hates any place where youth congregate) but luckily, the Frog won that battle. I guess Eastpointe realized it was better to give kids a safe, alchohol and drug-free place to go than send them out on the streets... or worse, Detroit.

When we arrived, Remember When, an indie/emo act was performing. We were impressed with their sound, which carried quite a bit of expression with it. But that's what emo's all about right? Maybe we'll run into them in the future. Remember when, by the way, are the guys in the picture above.

Yep, you guessed it- it's Dot. again! We've been playing so many shows together that band members from both bands have joked about the bands "dating" each other. We must be on our honeymoon by now. Feeling bad about leaving Jason (Dot.'s drummer) out of the picture last time, we made sure to include him this time. They did a good show, as always.

And there we are, intruiged by all the pretty colors. It's safe to say we enjoyed playing here very much. Plenty of room to run around on the stage, just like at the Blind Pig. We also seemed to get a decent reaction from the local crowd. So, all you kids from the east site of Detroit, make sure to come out to our next show at the Frog in November.

Much of our weekend was spent with these guys. They're the band Burning Radios from Arizona. They're on a national tour and stayed with us while in southeast Michigan. We actually were supposed to play with them the night before at a private house party in Ann Arbor. Burning Radios got to rock out, but the Ann Arbor police made sure that we shut down before we could play. So, are we THAT bad? Seriously though, thanks to all the kind neighbors who made sure that harmless college students can't have their fun. We enjoyed Burning Radio's company, and they put on a very energetic show. Good luck on your tour, guys! Well we'll leave you with this last picture. See you at the next show.
