The Blind Pig
Ann Arbor, Michigan

Bands: Once a Hero, Ettison Clio, and Dot.

We've played at the Blind Pig once before (it was actually our homecoming show of our summer tour) but this was the first time we've headlined our own show. Unfortunately, Presidio wasn't around to rock out with us like last time (we'll miss them) but we did have Dot., as well as Ettison Clio, with whom we played recently at 313.jac in Detroit, opening for us.

In the photo above, you can see Ettison Clio doin' their thing. We've already had a chance to get to know their music when we played with them in Detroit, and they say you enjoy a band much more the second time you see them, so it was defintately fun getting to play with them again. We're looking foward to our next date with them on Sept. 28 at Maggie's.

If you don't recognize these guys by now, it's because you haven't made it to one of our shows in a long time. Either that, or perhaps maybe the fact that the picture's a little blury. The dudes in the picture, (getting back on track) visible or not, are Dot. from East Lansing. Except that Jason (the drummer) isn't in the picture. We're sorry for excluding you this time, Jason. It doesn't make you any less of a member of Dot., we promise.

After Ettison Clio and Dot. had finished their sets, it was our turn to make some organized noise. We played a longer set than usual, playing all of our songs that haven't been "retired," so to speak. It was a fun show for us, with plenty of room to move around on the stage, and our hometown friends cheering us on.

We also ended our show a little differently than usual. (No, we DID finish with "Blood Red.") But at the end of the song, Adam started hitting his drums in that forboding way that I think we've all seen once before at a Sigma Phi show, at the climax of which he slammed all of his drums over, and he and Alex collapsed on top of them. A couple fans thought it was pretty emo. Emo? Teen angst? Agression? Humor? You decide. Speaking of "emo," we'll leave you with a last picture of us in one of our less-rocking, more emo moments. 'Til next time, everyone.
