Bands: Once a Hero, Amanna 18, Girls Hate Mike

This show marks our second time in Toledo and our last show before our Ann Arbor homecoming. Frankie's is a decent sized bar/club on main street in Toledo with a spattering of history behind it. Acts like the Smashing Pumpkins and Weezer played here before their big breaks.

Tonight, there was an exceptional up and coming band called Amanna 18 playing very tight pop punk rock. They are similar in style (and hair cuts!) to the Ataris from Kung Fu Records. They headlined the show tonight and drew a very decent crowd. We were glad to play with them.

Even though we aren't exactly a pop punk band, we went over well and had a very good response from the crowd. People knock the Toledo scene, but I've been pretty impressed both times through.

Another group played, though not pictured, named "Girls Hate Mike". Apparently band mates hate Mike too because they didn't show and Mike was left to himself to play a solo acoustic set. His set actually went off pretty well, all things considered.

Another pic

Once again, the guys running the show were outstanding and took good care of us. We'll definitely be back to Frankie's in the fall, so be on the look out. Tomorrow is our big Blind Pig show!
