Bands: Once a Hero, ADS, Ass Out

Ever wonder what it's like being a indie band doing the touring thing? This is the face of 7 hours of sleep and 10 hours of driving ahead. After waking up at 9 to get the free continental breakfast at our hotel, we had to pack up and drive ANOTHER 560 miles to Denver.

There is a whole lot of nothing in Kansas, it actually got alot worse than this. By about halfway through it, there was nothing but dust and signs advertising "Worlds largest Prarie dog, this exit".

We stopped every two hundred miles to get gas and just relax for 20 minutes before getting back in the car. This gas station was the only man made thing for miles. Where do the people that work here come from?

So finally we made it to Denver. We had a little bad luck at first. We went to the venue, Iliff Park Saloon, when we got there the guy at the door told us that it was closed down and all the shows were canceled. No one bothered to tell us before hand, we only drove 560 MILES!. But we called around and got a hold of another venue that had a cancellation and it turned out to be a way better venue anyway and we had a great time. The girl in the pic is Brenna (spelling?). Pink hair is awesome.

It was a little mix of bands tonight. There were two other bands that night, one punk/emo band called ADS and another thrash metal band called Ass Out. They were both super cool guys and we stayed till the end to watch everyone play.

We played pretty well tonight, definitely one of the cooler stage set ups that we've played on. We did a nice long 10 song set, playing all of our newest material and all of the older stuff off of the EP.

I guess we went over pretty well, because we sold a bunch of CD's and lighters and were even obliged to sign some autographs. So I guess things went pretty good considering it was a last minute set up.

The club owner/manager guy like us a lot too, and made a special point of giving us his contact information. He said he wanted us to come back and play again soon. We'll see, might not be till next summer, but we'll definitely look em up again. We've got a nice rest tomorrow because our next show is only 2 hours away. Looking forward to not having to drive 10 hours again. Rock and roll
