May 25 @ Just Java Cafe:
Obaidah, Gone With Mark, Elected, and Once A Hero

The night started out with a line of kids in front of Just Java waiting to see, Obadiah, Gone With Mark, Elected, and Once a Hero ( a touring band from somewhere on the East Coast). Obadiah went on at about 8:30. I had seen these guys play before at a Dogwood show about two months ago, they did really good then but this show was different, their lead guitar player couldn’t make it for some reason and the vocals weren’t turned up loud enough (considering that Just Java sound sucks), but all in all they did good.

The next band was Elected. This band is another “pop punk band” trying to make it in San Diego. They were okay considering that they haven’t been around that long, but they definitely need some work. I thought that the drummer was really good and they had an average stage presence, but they weren't very impressing.

The band playing after Elected was, Gone With Mark, these guys play a different style of punk. The singer sang with Green Day style vocals and the music sounded like a cheap Pennywise, but they were pretty good.

Finally, Once a Hero went on. These guys were a good “pop punk/indie rock band.” There music was really tight and the singer was really good and I think that the crowd liked them a lot. I got a chance to talk to the lead singer after the show and it seemed like he was really nice.
